Episode Four 2/7 16:46- Talking about mental health with our youth as we continue in the Covid 19 Pandemic- We touch base briefly with Keith Hamm a community liaison for Integrated Family Services- with offices through ENC HERE as well as review the CDCs Parental Resource Kits that are available in 4 different age groups HERE!

Episode Six 2/21 18:22– Scott Herrick – The National Director of Public Policy for the Alzheimer’s Association. March 11th from 9AM to 2PM is Advocacy Day! Free training for anyone interested in becoming an advocate or helping a loved one HERE. The Alzheimer Help & Support Center has more HERE. 1 in 8 of those in their 60s, 1 in 4 of those in their 70s, and 1 in 2 of those in their 80s will suffer from some sort of cognitive impairment. Episode Seven 2/28 22:27- Bill Ivey – the Executive Director for Home for Our Troops. Home for Our Troops broke ground Feb 6th in Jacksonville, building for Sgt. Hancock – learn about his story HERE. Homes for Our Troops has built and donated over 313 homes since their inception! Episode Eleven 4/4 18:59- This week we speak to Dee Smith, Coordinator for Carteret Big Sweep! An already amazing program that has announced 3 new initiatives for 2021. There are scheduled monthly roadside cleanups- the 3rd Saturday of each month, volunteer HERE. With the Fill My Bucket List Campaign, you can order your personal cleanup kit. Orders will be taken April 12 through the 23rd. The Summer Solo Cleanup Program recruits students to clean up litter from Memorial Day to Labor Day and earn their community service hours! Episode Twenty-Seven 8/15 11:59- This week we speak with Laura Hogshead- Director of NC Hope, an amazing program providing emergency rental assistance to people that experienced a setback due to Covid-19.. to include wage reductions, loss of job, hours, etc. NC Hope also has utility assistance. NC Hope lets you know within 10 minutes if you qualify- most people do- the income limit is 80% of your county medium-income- VERY generous! NC Hope is also accepting tenant referrals from landlords.. so if your tenant is having issues making the monthly rent.. you can help possibly get them assistance.
